Este trabalho apresenta a implantação do laboratório NatLab (Nanophotonic Technologies Laboratory) no Instituto de Física da Universidade de São Paulo (IFUSP), um laboratório voltado para a micro/nanofabricação e caracterização de dispositivos fotônicos. Uma parte importante do laboratório é dedicada a um sistema de fabricação por fotopolimerização de dois fótons, que permite a produção de microestruturas tridimensionais de geometrias arbitrárias com nível de detalhamento de centenas de nanômetros e versatilidade de materiais. A iniciativa visa fomentar pesquisas em fotônica e em áreas interdisciplinares, assim como a formação de recursos humanos para fortalecer a USP como uma universidade de referência nacional e internacional e contribuir de maneira inovadora com o avanço da ciência e tecnologia.
